Testing Chat Thread
Re: Testing Chat Thread
I don't think the post office lets you do that with big packages. Right now my plan is to gut it for the hard drive and the expensive parts in it, then get a new barebones box when I have a place set up.Flagg wrote:PO box?

Re: Testing Chat Thread
Can't you just go buy a box for $7 from The UPS Store or Kinko's and some bubble wrap? It worked for me when I had to move my rockin' homebuild PIII full tower speed machine.

Re: Testing Chat Thread
yeah that's basically what i'd suggest, just have a friend hold it and mail it to you in a week

well yeah, our postal system is pretty much ballsstarku wrote:If us mail doesn't have a simple form you fill out to redirect your shit
Your country is shit
it's not exactly a huge deal though, getting a new case is pennies compared to replacing the whole thing
right now the graphics card and power supply are probably worth more than the whole box

Re: Testing Chat Thread
our postal system is actually pretty great and it takes a whole 5 minutes to get your mail forwarded to a new address for the next year by going to their website
Re: Testing Chat Thread

but it's impossible to get something sturdy that it would fit in that wouldn't cost more than just getting a barebones kit

Zod : I'm sure I'm missing some important detail, but couldn't you, like, rent a truck to move all your shit through country in one go ? Or is it a money problem ? Or something else ?
No.
Re: Testing Chat Thread
Uh, yeah they do. They stick a piece of paper in your PO box saying you've got a large package (lol penis joke) and that you can pick it up at their desk. They just hold it for you.Zod wrote:I don't think the post office lets you do that with big packages.Flagg wrote:PO box?

Goddamn opthamologists charging way more than I thought they would for an appointment. Guess I'm not making that trip up to Ottawa unless my insurance gets back to me quicker than usual. Ah well. At least they didn't do that thing that half-blinds me for the afternoon.
otoh new glasses in September. My current ones are all cracked and shit so looking forward to not having big fucking lines in the lower half of my vision.

well, I don't know how it is in the US, but here with a B-License (the one that allow you to drive a personnal car), you can drive any four-wheeled vehicle under 3.5 metric tons, fully-loaded weight.
this technically allow you to rent something like this : http://www.auto-moins-cher.fr/wp-conten ... jumper.jpg http://www.amenagement-vehicule.com/cli ... cn6267.jpg
edit : or do you mean you don't have a driver license at all ?

You can drive one of these with a standard driver's license in the US:
I'm guessing Zod just doesn't have a license period.
