It's the only title in the whole series that seems worth playing, and it is neither on Steam, Impulse/Gamestop or GOG.com.
Worms 2 is better
armageddon removes a lot of cool stuff from 2 and adds the ability to get sick from farts

Feminism?
I mean I don't remember much in the way of violent terrorism and stuff happening with that one.
I'm reminded of a guy on the internet who said something like the backlash against it is hilarious because it was basically the nicest revolutionary movement ever.
Sometimes when I realise how fucked up our society is, I wish there was a violent sidekick to Occupy. But then I realise that the US government would just go apeshit.
And the only violent movement likely to start would be by the right wing.
I wish something could change without it but...ah fuck it.
anywho on a lighter note i've now seen most the episodes of disnep channel's new show GRAVITY FALLS
and i gotta tell you. it's actually pretty good. i understand it is the current winner of the key 9-13 demographic and it deserves that and a lot more
i like the characters, i like the acting, i like the stories, i like the jokes, i evne like the theme song and opening animation.
in fact i can't name anything i really dislike about it, which is amazing coming out of the disnep channel. i mean it is kinda hard to believe that dipper can be how he is (fairly mature, witty, having a full grown man as a voice actor, etc) and yet only be 12 years old, but the stories are good and i like the character.... so you know what, i'll willingly suspend my disbelief
now if you've been an avid reader of my tumblr you'll know that i like a number of kids shows. WORD GIRL on pbs and THE FRESH BEAT BAND on nick jr have got me singing praise, among others
on the other end of the spectrum of awful though is such trash like DORA THE EXPLORER and virtually the entire lineup out of disnep, regardless of the age group
for the younger children they produce pure annoyance. putrid shit like MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE makes me want to fucking vomit into a pile of diarrhea. it is extremely repetitive, chock full of disgusting branding, and void of any artistic value whatsoever
little einsteins, special agent oso, jake and the neverland pirates and whatever else they have on teh godawful disnep junior are slightly better, but still generally fucking awful. trite references to better works amidst a sea of annoying repetition
if you move up to the competing shows with gravity falls you see another annoying trait come out: all the characters are FUCKING LOADED
pair of kings follows a pair of "kings"
hannah montana follows a rich music star
the suite life of zach and cody follows two spoiled rich kids at first living in an upscale hotel, and later on a cruise ship, and their rich "friends" who all skate through life
the list goes on. the image the disnep channel puts out to our children is, first and foremost, "BUY OUR SHIT", and secondly "YOU SHOULD EMULATE THESE VAPID, STUPID, RICH ASSHOLES"
and its disgusting, just fucking disgusting.
but to get back to praising gravity falls, it isn't like that. its characters are fairly ordinary. very quirky, of course, but they aren't rich, they aren't destined to be kings. they aren't geniuses. that's refreshing
the one rich kid is a spoiled meany who sometimes gets whats coming to her. good. and they don't overplay this either, better.
the setting, again, very very bizarre, but it isn't a disgusting exclusive thing designed to get kids to say "i wish i lived on a cruise ship!!!!!"
really the show, it just works. i expected to loathe it, being something isabella likes on the god damned disnep channel, but i was very pleasently surprised and i haven't been this surprised by a show's quality since the excellent GILMORE GIRLS which i also expected to hate but ended up loving... kinda for the same reasons too. likeable, quirky characters and setting, amusing yet gripping plots and arcs, etc.
bottom line: i look forward to watching more of this show. the disnep channel finally has a WINNER.

Have there been successful non-violent revolutions?
i would consider the bolivarian revolution by hugo chavez to be one. he was convinced to try democracy... and it worked. he's changed a lot of things in venezuela as president, including the constitution, so i'm pretty sure it fits the definition of a successful revolution, and it was done with elections and politics and shit, no coups, no wars
Ugh. Talked to my dad again today about me getting my own gun, since I don't just want to keep mooching off my friends' collections when we go to the range, and he's subtly implied that he'll stop helping me pay for college if I try to buy my own rifle. I don't know why he's so freaked out over it. I don't want to get a CPL, I don't want to carry it around, I just want a rifle (probably one like I fired last weekend, either an AR-15 or a Bolt-action Mosin. Allan says those are cheap.) to take to the range with my friends.
