Tempting, but I have a midterm and final next week and I don't like doing long drives without someone to keep me company.

I hereby put forth that the comments about charity being selfish be added to the list of THE DUMBEST SHIT (TM) that Darkwing has ever brought forth.

So I tried to watch Prometheus. Turns out I'm still a giant pussy when it comes to scenes involving torture porn thanks to the cesarian scene when they cut out the fetus.

I can't wait to see that the for the first time next month and defend it (hopefully). I will do it on SDN to see how they react. Please don't post any more spoilers without tags.

So. I wound up fast forwarding through the torture porn bit, and the rest of the movie was okay. Nothing spectacular, but decent-ish. There could have been more character building than we got.

I just can't sit through any kind of finance or accounting class anymore. I'm taking one right now because I failed it before and I need to clear the F off of my transcript, but after that i'm done. Those classes are like a goddamn sedative injection. I can't stay awake.

Try gulping down a giant can of monster, one of those 5-hour energy shots, and if you're a coffee person a giant espresso. That should get you by for the first half.

We cheat* almost as badly as the UK and Germany for the first, and the second I've seen differently.

Here's a hint: Wall Street gets counted in the numbers, that's why American productivity went down during the crash and has come back since.
having the financial capital of planet earth is not a cheat
It is when that is completely independent of the actual production.

If Wall Street were in Windhoek, Namibia would be the most productive per person, or darn close.

i feel ill

i have two exams at the end of the week that i can't be prepared for, and even if i pass them with high enough marks there's no guarantee they'll be marked in time to release the transcripts by the deadline i need to get them in (Oct 5)

and then i still have to study for the other exam

the 4 hour exam that covers everything i should have been studying for the past month

but instead spent on this one prereq class

if i can't write this entrance exam in october i can still find a job and try again in june

but my father will be so disappointed in me

i'll be so disappointed in me

and since i'll be starting the program in june, instead of this winter, i won't be done until three years after i finished school, instead of 2.5 years

i'll be 27 by then

probably not going to go to law school at that point

because that's three years and another to article, i'd be 31, likely 32 or 33 by the time i started my legal career

as it was i was looking at 30, and that's pushing it so close and assuming everything went right

if i went out of country it'd be another year on top easy

so i feel like that door is closing

the stress is making me nauseous and my palms are sweating

and on the other end i'm dangling on a hook waiting for a phone call

i don't know what she's going to say

'can we try again?'

'can you leave me alone forever?'

all i know is she's got a question she wants to ask me

sorry i just needed to try to get this out before it eats through me

Cry me a river. There's nothing wrong with starting a career at your age. I'm in the same boat. I won't graduate until I am 28. At least you're trying to become educated and to start a career.

It sounds like you and your father have unrealistic expectations of you.

It sounds like you could use a vacation or something, man. You can't be strong forever.

And hey, while you're in Toronto, let's go get a drink or visit a club or something, if you can somehow find the time.

I'm seriously debating going back to school as a 30yo man. The courses I'm considering would mean I would be AT LEAST 36 before getting into the workforce again.

But that's still 30-40 years of working life ahead of me.

Phant, why do you care what your father thinks about your accomplishments? Is there some kind of family honor within your household? Do you have to satisfy him instead of yourself? If my relatives ever made me feel like they are disappointing in the path I take or will be, I'll tell them to fuck off. It's your life. Who cares what your father thinks.
