Oh, so they do think ahead
Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
As we know, Obama wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare in a "grand bargain" to avoid the "fiscal cliff". Yesterday, John Boehner said he's willing to bargain on small tax cuts as long as the "entitlements" stay in the crosshairs.

A possible source of hope
is that as what represent today's Republican Party's demographic continue to shrink comparatively to the rest of the country
some day, there could be a real chance for change in the US
One can dream.

Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
The election certainly exposed the massive racism in America, yeah they get more irrelevant every year but lets hope they go quietly.
Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
Didn't go quietly in 1860, won't go quietly this time.
Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
Yeah, that's what bothers me.
Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
Yeah but 1860 didn't have twitter
Re: The Return of Testing Chat Thread
Techno-Thriller of the week :
After Obama's reelection, the South Rise Again. Cue confusion as a fourth to a third of the South's population try to move to the North as fast as possible, and as the South's National Guard's depots get blown up by an all out strike of bombers, fighters, cruise missiles and even some ballistic missiles (thanks god not nuclear-tipped).
Texas just declare independence and try to become its own country separately from the US or the rest of the "Confederate States". Its economy quickly crash and burn as no one want to trade with them in fear of US retaliations or just in solidarity with the US, or those who want don't have the money or drive a hard bargain. Ironically, Texas end-up as some sort of bastardized state-controlled economy, and in face of the shortage of a number of resources produced out of its territory become one of the leading states of the continent as far as reduction of raw resources consumption goes.
Some of the Confederate States, desperate, try to use the nukes they managed to seize from US armed forces bases as a bargain chip. It ends badly.

I just had my final undgergraduate tutorial.
Being final day of semester, most students didn't show. Neither did the lecturer.
Anticlimax.
Now I have a week to write a twelve hundred word essay. I wrote my intro for it waiting for Dr No Show.

And not surprisingly there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I'm exaggerating a little, but on the friends' update page I only just started scrolling down and the first three or four posts were pissing and moaning about the election. The Spartan wrote:Edit: come to think of it, I'm almost afraid (not really, but you know what I mean) to log into my Facebook account.
