HPCA does the election!
Re: HPCA does the election!
As for the Ron Paul => lesser evil thingy, that was I think the main aspect of his *air quote* support *air quote* of Ron Paul. But not the only one.
I have always perceived ADR as being sympathetic to Libertarianism to varying degrees. Not the kind to quote Ayn Rand though.
I'm not one to criticize unorthodox political positions for the sake of it, though, given I currently identify myself as an unholy mix of Communist AND Anarchist sympathizer.

No.
Re: HPCA does the election!
Some of my best friends are libertarians, one of my uncles is a libertarian socialist, and the Americans (as usual) have abused the word beyond recognition.
Re: HPCA does the election!
Pretty much, yes.
And let's just say there's an heavy legacy leading me toward Communism/Anarchism in my family.
Plus, I've always had... difficulties (euphemism, how I love thee) accepting Authority - to be subjected to it, and to be holding it. I can't really treat with anyone when I'm not on a more or less equal footing.
I make do, but I don't like it. At all.

Re: HPCA does the election!
I should probably read a book on the subject, but I still have difficulties understanding why the Communists and the Anarchists ended up fighting each other during the Spanish Civil War.
I mean, it's beyond my comprehension, because for me the two ideologies are more or less joined at the hip, and are just two aspects of a larger Vision.
Oh well, Tribalism, I suppose. As always, the Monkeys fuck everything up.

Re: HPCA does the election!
I'm shamefully ignorant of the Spanish civil war, but weren't the Communists there largely backed by the Soviets? Or at least, weren't they following leninist/stalinist ideology, which would conflict with anarchism pretty badly?

Looks like you not knowing "Jack sh!t" about a subject, especially one that is none of you damn Brit business, has stopped you from making an A$$ out of your self. So why don't you just go on and shoot that big ignorant mouth of yours off about kerry as secDef?
Or
Try shutting up long enough to read what people who know that traitor actually have to say about the SOB? Oh I'm sorry, for a second I thought I was speaking to man and not

What the US does is none of your damn business in the UK. ISA, US internal politics are no business of yours. I am sick and tired of reading what you Brits think the US is doing wrong.
Your own "F"ed up HAS BEEN, FAST BECOMING THIRD WOLRLD SH!T HOLE of a once

telling us what we, the last super power, should do? I call it abject arrogance on your part based on a very, very well deserved inferiority complex.
When you straighten out the UK then, I just might want to waste time reading what you think. Until then you and garbage mouth M...UK can just shut the hell up.
Got it now or do I have to use crayons?
ISA The interanl politics of a sovereign state are none of your business.

Will everybody please remember that ths community consists mostly of friends who have known each other a long time A very long time by Internet standards. So, please try and keep the environment here one of cordiality. That doesn't mean opinions can't be expressed strongly or forcefully but an appropriate degree of restraint is desirable. There might be flare-ups now and then to clear the air but they should be the exceptions not the rule and the administration will cool them down.
I'm sure nobody here wants this community to degenerate into the kind of sewer where obscene language and screaming personal insults substitute for discussion. There are far too many communitys like that already and I would hate to see us join their ranks. The problem is that its relatively easy to hold a level of "goodness" but very hard to stop a descent into the abyss once the slide starts. So, if we seema bit picky sometimes, our intentions are good even if they might not seem that way at the time.
If you cannot live up to these standards then you may wish to put in for a transfer.

I am addressing the long list of postings made by him during my week's absence that I consider totally arrogant and insulting coming form a Brit. He is a foreigner taking up the cause of our current criminal regime and the other DNC traiors. IMO, by defending and supportung their actions and ideas he is attcking the constitutionof the USA and as a foreignerr He has ZERO right to do so with impunity.Theodore wrote:OK, green table time. Jimlad you still think it was an over reaction?Theodore wrote:Theo that decison is way above your paygrade.
OK mate what if I wrote "YOUR queen is a crack whore and she rules a nation of idiots too dumb to govern themselves!" How does that sit with you?
That is the way I think of what Comrade Chris has been writing about my constitution by backing the policies of our criminal regime and the DNC.
Get it now Jimlad?
Stu, that's my response to Theo's "caution" Take whatever "discipinary action"---))))
you think is warranted.

yea he was the best choice at the time of the republican primary. he was the best of that lot, including barack obamaOxymoron wrote:As for the Ron Paul => lesser evil thingy, that was I think the main aspect of his *air quote* support *air quote* of Ron Paul.
general election tho he didn't hold a candle to jill stein, rocky anderson, stewart alexander, or even roseanne barr
Little 'l' libertarianism, yes. Big 'L' Libertarianism, as known in America, is only agreeable on some specific issues. If I had to pick one government structure label for myself, I'd probably go with either 'libertarian socialist' or 'anarcho-communist', but I don't like labels because they never perfectly fit, but people have a habit of assuming they do (bringing guilt by association stuff).I have always perceived ADR as being sympathetic to Libertarianism to varying degrees.

Re: HPCA does the election!
lol yes ron "I think we all know how fleet of foot black people can be" paul was clearly the best choice
Re: HPCA does the election!
In the primary, maybe yes. He might be racist/sexist/closeminded and from the worst part of the Libertarian wing of politics, but at least he's open about what he believes and stuck by it. Unlike Romney or Gingrich who both tried to cloak politics of self-interest behind a thin veil of constitutionality and patriotism and who would kneejerk support programs like drone bombings without ever thinking about the ideological constellations that make those things possible, Ron Paul understood what he said and why he thought it to be true and stood by some of these stances. I'll prefer that to any other republican.
I'll actually say that at the end of the primary I was pulling for Santorum on much the same principle. Santorum may be a disgusting piece of shit but a Santorum nomination would actually let America get the whole religion debate out into the open and deal with it in a way that might provide some sort of understanding and/or closure as opposed to the way it simply sits in the background of everything that any politician on the national stage does.

Pretty much my own stance on the question.adr wrote:I don't like labels because they never perfectly fit, but people have a habit of assuming they do (bringing guilt by association stuff).
IF I have to define myself with a few words, I prefer it to be about what I DO, rather than what I think, what I like or who I love.
Yeah. I hate labels. They bring Manichean thought, and gawd know I loathe that shit.
No.

This is all you need to know about Ron Paul: he was a medical doctor and he thinks evolution is bullshit.
Rephrase: he has the education to be considered a medical doctor and he thinks evolution is bullshit.

The few information I have on the guy lead me to believe he's a total basket case.
But a basket case with ideals he stands by and more integrity than a pretty much all his adversaries.
Talk about a shit sandwich.

he may be anti war and all of that good shit, but he's still an anti-government stooge.
Re: HPCA does the election!
Ron Paul was easily the worst candidate on that stage. This includes Herman Cain.

Also I think they might have a more insidious effect too.adr wrote:I don't like labels because they never perfectly fit, but people have a habit of assuming they do (bringing guilt by association stuff).
Once you self-identify with a group in your monkey mind they start to become your team and you feel the impulse to support them and conform to the group identity.

Edgeplay used to be sane. The Senior Chief has been like this since 1999.
