But seriously, with me at the time, and this was a one time thing, I've been in similar situations and acted differently, but this time, it was a lot of things coming together.

The first several encounters with these punks, I figured I'd just take it and maybe the problem would just go away. But, it didn't, and eventually I got angry and wanted revenge. Arming myself gave me the security to go a step further - welcoming a test of this new power. Probably didn't help that I was 14 at the time either.

That's a dangerous combination that I hope never happens again.


But this is one of those experiences that I feel added to my ability to "get it" when I see other people lash out - and a contributing reason to my politics.

As for Chocs, he obviously hasn’t killed anyone yet, statistically he's among the safest individuals in the country, and his nation allows him that right. Stop pissing and moaning because you don't agree with his choice to carry. No wonder liberals and conservatives can't get along.

similarly: complaints about the money lost by cashiers dealing with pennies. that money isn't lost at all, i know exactly where it went: into the cashier's paycheck

i mean you could say it is wasteful or something, but "lost" just doesn't seem to be the right word (unless you're the owner bitching about less than perfect profits, of course, then it makes totes sense)

It was likely in that thread I recreated that Thanas has yet to post. After my finals I''ll be contacting Dalton once again to see if I can have the necessary privileges to do it myself

also, liek what aaron says, unless you're a total fucking idiot or a sociopath, actually handling guns and shooting one at the range - realizing what that piece of metal in your hand can do and how horrible it can go if you fuck up and all the implications of wielding a weapon - is actually a humbling and very educational experience that actually helps increase responsibility
