Note that Dropbox let you the possibility to download a whole directory as a single compressed zip file, so you won't have to download hundreds of files by hand.

If, for some unfathomable reason, I wanted to download one of these threads, would they be viewable in a web browser or what?

Basically, you have to un-compress the zip files, go into the folder bearing the number of the page you want to see, and click on the "viewtopic.php.htm" file. Clicking on "next" in the pages will not work.

I could always try to write an app to go around that, but fuck I can be arsed to try something like that.

You'll just have to do it the hard way.
