Fluttershy wasn't in the montage either.
Pinkie is the only one who talked, and Andrea Libman did voice another pony. Rarity didn't say anything but her VA is Granny Smith anyway.
I think it's mostly logistics, with Tara Strong living in LA and the rest of the cast in Vancouver. Unless there's a role for Twilight it may not be worth it to have her just say a few lines or voice a background pony.
Very well done, too. Because the first time is when Granny said, "Who knows if they'll all make the next one?" and there was a nice little bit of music as well.

I'll go out on a limb (and quote myself) to say that scene is my favorite moment of the show thus far.
Season 3 Episode 11 Episode Title: Keep Calm and Flutter On Air Date: January 19th, 2013 Synopsis: Princess Celestia tasks the ponies with reforming Discord, a mischievous spirit of disharmony, but Fluttershy is the only one who is willing to give him a chance.
This give me an idea of what kind of two-part episodes 12 & 13 might be...

It would totally fit the theme of the show, and I've the impression that Celestia and Luna are preparing for some serious shit to hit the fan (ominous black book and the rumors of Alicorn Twilight, plus Sombra corruption ?), so it'd make sense for them to try to make an ally of what is maybe the most powerful being on the planet.
I wonder if they'll fail in trying to redeem him and the lesson would be about dealing with failure? I mean Twilight faced the prospect of it in The Crystal Empire (and arguably Magic Duel) but came through. What if this time she doesn't? It'd be interesting, anyway.
Oh and I sense an "arc episode" (inasmuch as they'd have one) with Twilight's 'next level' and her 'destiny' being involved?
Anyway this looks to be an awesome episode, I can't wait.
Although from the look of it only Fluttershy among the Mane 6 seems to believe that he can be redeemed, so maybe the lesson could be either "give peace friendship a chance" or "sorry flutters, but sometime kindness isn't enough".
Indeed. There's a lot of ways the episode could go, all of them good. And yeah, while it's mostly likely he'll be redeemed and that would be par for the course, I still think that would make an enjoyable episode.
Besides, if all else fails we're still getting John de Lancie's voice acting again, which is always a win in my book.
you know when ever i think about changing my avatar on TEO I write a post where bored scotaloo just seems to fit the post's tone perfectly and i put it off for a bit.
I can't imagine Discord being reformed myself. I mean if he could be wouldn't the elements of harmony do it rather than turning him to stone? They de-evillised Luna after all. And the nightmare moon as evil possessive entity thing as never really been stated in canon.
