How could you turn that kind of crossover fanfic ? Straight-up ponification with Second Impact and "alternate history", with Celestia throwing her most faithful student (now orphan) into battle with the first angel in Canterlot-3 ; or something more subtle ?

thematically, the two shows are too different for a straight ponification of NGE to work
...unless that was the point of the fic: since twilight etc are much more well-balanced & have strong friendships, they can last much better, psychologically, than the NGE kids

but generally, I dislike 'ponification'-type fanfics
