Actually to be totally honest I didn't listen to the Hottest 100 at all this year and only found out what the number 1 song was literally just now. I also don't get the significance of this song winning and have never heard it.

It's a non-commercial station aimed at the youth market with an emphasis on Australian and alternative music. It has indie cred, yo. I actually do like it but I think maybe I have been stereotyped somewhat here lol

Triple J is a national, state-sponsored FM radio station that promotes alternative music, and generally avoid playing pop. Every Australia Day(Jan 26) they play a countdown list of 100 listener-voted songs released the previous year. Every year there are tears and bitching over the #1 song, because by the time of evening that it gets played people are sunburnt, possibly have food poisoning, and either drunk or already developing a hangover. This means that their disappointment turns to anger. Facebook tends to explode.

Cancon was fun.

I got burned by Games Paradise. I was wondering if they buy new (in shrink wrap) stock, and they said that they'd buy my DW board game for $30. I had it sitting in the second hand stall, for $20. So I pulled it out of there, and took it down to GP, when they decided not to go through with it. I then went and put it through another second hand store. They then called the organiser of Cancon, and got it pulled from the shelf in the second hand shop.

I also spent eight hours playing a 15mm recreation of Gettysburg. I managed to do well enough to force a draw, as a Confederate cavalry/artillery guy.

I would have bought stuff, but work forgot to pay me for last Saturday night, so thrift was the rule of the day.

All in all, awesome trip.

Yeah. I was about half the age of everyone else at the table.

But it's a changing event. One shop has bought out half of the main hall, and they ran the end of con auction, and disallowed people from listing their own stuff in it. As a result, it was basically the same stuff in the store, without much of a mark down from their inflated con prices. It was all lifeless.

While trying to reason with the guy that dirt and dust can get on your windshield just from driving on a gravel parking lot, he called me an unsafe driver for some reason and acted high and mighty because he loves cars. The idea that he'd say I'm an unsafe driver and potentially kill many people because he hit his mid life crisis in his 20s is hilariously tragic.
