Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I got mine first time. Was only penalised for not checking my blindspot during a 3 point turn. In a culdesac. With no cars parked. Or in driveways. Or people about.
Fair enough though, habit and all that..
Knew of one guy who failed at least 6 times, in an auto.

I got my course list finalised for my postgrad study, as well as a textbook list indicating I'll be paying $150 for texts this semester. It all feels so real now.
However, I can't wait for next year. Writing my thesis!

24 hours until I leave for the unknown. I will admit that I'm a little bit nervous.
Also: aisle or window seat for a along-distance flight? Window means I get a view but aisle is easier to stretch my legs or go to the loo.

If the trip's mostly over ocean, I'd ignore that aspect. Personally, I feel I have to have aisle seats since I'm rather claustrophobic, but not sure how much that matters to you.
Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I think I'll go for window on the first leg (one-hour transfer to London) and an aisle for the rest. I can sleep pretty much anywhere anyway.

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I prefer window, but that's because I like to lean against the inside wall to sleep.

Best of Luck, Bounty.
I'd go for aisle myself probably. Easier to move. Less chance I'd have to talk to people. lol.

Aisle seats are the worst, especially on long flights. Simply because you're going to have people shoving their asses or crotches in your face as they goto the bathroom.

I think the aircraft and passanger flight industry has been slowly going down the toilet since 9/11.

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
On long flights, I agree with you. On a short flight I prefer aisle seats- the danger of someone next to you needing to go somewhere is less and when the plane lands you can get off that much quicker.Flagg wrote:Aisle seats are the worst, especially on long flights. I hate being on a plane any longer than I need to. Not that I hate flying, just getting on and off a plane.
Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
Got an aisle seat in the exit row, leg room was glorious. The one downer was terrible weather over the Channel NOW THERE'S A SURPRISE and the half-hour holding pattern over London.

Several. One: a girl Two: espionage Three: politics
Three: worried about how things will go in March when the legislature reconvenes. Opposition has dug up a lot of dirt on my party's past, which is LOL funny considering they were still members of our party when most of this shit happened. Also worried about leadership review in the fall, the leader has been doing a shit job lately in the opinion of a lot of people. The 2013 budget may change some minds on that, remains to be seen.
Two: someone recorded a conference call between presidents of the party's constituency associations and the party president and executive director. This leaked to the media. What few know is that the youth wing had a conference call with the premier right after and there were unknown numbers still on the line, potentially recording our call as well.
Three: the usual, like her, want to ask her out, am nervous.

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I'm starting to get the idea that overthinking things is a big hangup when it comes to women. Pretty sure I blew a shot with a girl the other night by thinking too much since I got a line about no chemistry when I asked to see her again on my way out.
Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I've gotten better at not overthinking once I've got them to go out with me, but if it turns serious I fuck it up, partly by overthinking.
And if I know them prior in some capacity, as friends or colleagues or classmates (that I talk to regularly vs random face in a lecture), and develop an interest, I overthink like crazy. I'm doing it righ tnow.

That's actually the idea. Also, I understand eye contact is a big deal.Phantasee wrote:but fuck it, you're in a huge city now, plenty of opportunity for practice!
Just for shits and giggles I'm going to stop by a place in Greenwich village that has monthly romance novel readings on Monday.
