Re: Weeaboo shit thread

Re: Weeaboo shit thread
Well you're certainly not going to find any answers in the first OVA they put out.
Which may or may not be about buying swimsuits.

Re: Weeaboo shit thread
Honestly I prefer when shows that have really weird and silly aspects like that don't ever comment on them. They're just part of life there and it's the norm for them, and if we want to figure out what's going on we can piece stuff together or just make up our own stuff.
Re: Weeaboo shit thread
i initially thought it was a disappointing move but actually the notion that they're blowing ridiculous amounts of money to make their schools prestigious is pretty cool
it brings to mind some kind of international prestige race
and raises the question of how other countries are going about it
airships?
space stations?

Re: Weeaboo shit thread
So, I just watched the first episode of Upotte.
Well, lemme just say that "gun porn" is taking a on a whole new meaning.

M14 is a semi-automatic pun delivery system.

TACHIKOMA TIME

Tachikomas are the majorest moe.
Re: Weeaboo shit thread
so a little while back i watched maybe a dozen or so episodes of Darker Than Black
and it is in my opinion pretty bad, lacking engaging story-telling for two principal reasons:
it drops vague hints of ~creepy worldbuilding~ stuff, which we never seem to know enough about to appreciate. It reeks of cheap "hey you know about that CLANDESTINE ORGANIZATION we work for" "but of course that is why we need not discuss it" audience hooking
and despite this assurance of weird behind-the-scenes stuff going on that would do well with some kind of driven plot, we never seem to make any progress between each two-episode arc. they are virtually interchangable, at least to the extent that I've watched it, and it hasn't held my interest sufficiently to continue.
the criticism of never-addressed clues about the broader world could be applied to something like Evangelion, but Eva holds a distinction in my mind for at least having some kind of plot momentum. bleh

That expression is pretty funny considering the body parts it's referencing have a reputation for dropping or hanging quite low in general.Zablorg wrote:high as balls

Re: Weeaboo shit thread
I think its mostly just borne out of escalation. "High as fuck" is overused so now we've moved on to balls in the hopes that it's different and thus hopefully retains its intensity for a bit. (it won't)
