That's a cool design for the Crystal Empire guards.

Lol. They should have seen it coming. I sure did.

Like I said to someone else, they just have to rework all their art-assets to remove any direct link to the MLP franchise and everything should be cool. They can re-use the source-code no problem.

Sure, I saw it coming, but they were so close to finishing the game, it's just frustrating. If Hasbro had brought the hammer down a year ago, it wouldn't be so bad

and yeah, Lauren Faust is cool

Bah, at most it will only delay any game like that for just another year, the time for people to redo the Art on their own time given it's an amateur work.

that depends on how much the devs are demoralised/scared by the cease & desist
I don't know if just changing the characters to palette swaps would actually be enough to avoid being sued - and without advice from a lawyer saying that it's 100% safe, if I was one of them, I wouldn't risk it

I didn't say Palette swap. Just change them enough that anyone would have a hard time saying it's MLP related.

I dunno, like, just change them to Reindeers or something. :fukyu:

Eeeeyup.

I wonder what would have happened had they tried to get Hasbro's permission before starting? I can't remember the name of it but apparently somebody is making an original MLP episode and Hasbro gave them permission. Granted it's a student film project rather than just a fan thing, which may also play a role.

But like Oxy I can see where Hasbro is coming from on this. An MLP fighting game does go against the image they'd want the show to have, and it would seem that it was high profile enough to attract official attention. Sucks but there it is.

Personally I think this is more annoying. Despite their requests, people pirated the shit out of the Brony Documentary.

Granted it's not terribly surprising. Those "EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREEEEEE!!!" fuckers existed well before this show ever aired and will continue on, because fuck ever supporting people's hard work with your money, just go to piratebay amirite? :yarr:

Still it's rather annoying.

well I have no intention of seeing that documentary & thought it was a bad idea from the beginning

fuck pirates though

lol the comments section
why do pirates feel the need to justify themselves
'PIRACY ISN'T STEALING' lol, it reminds me of those creepy guys who try and make a distinction between paedophilia & ephebophilia (sp?) - I mean, yeah, they're technically correct; but they're quibbling semantics rather than confronting the moral issue...
(did I mention 'fuck pirates'? I find them more annoying for being a bunch of whiny fuckwits than anything else, really)

on a lighter note, the latest episode was pretty good, saw a side to RD other than 'complete bitch'

lol fair enough, I guess I got carried away there
my main problem with pirates (or at least, the people who defend piracy on the internet) is this whole irritating thing of attempting to justify it
just admit that you like getting shit for free, jesus

Oh fair enough. Yeah, reasons for piracy pretty much all boil down to 'i want it and its unavailable or too expensive'

I may watch on YouTube, mainly because my TV just won't record three shows at once. I always make sure to buy it on iTunes though, to make up for this.
Crazedwraith wrote:Oh fair enough. Yeah, reasons for piracy pretty much all boil down to 'i want it and its unavailable or too expensive'
Unavailable is one thing, but too expensive? I'd be willing to bet that's just a fake excuse for the vast majority of the "gimmie gimmie gimmie" crowd. Seeing as how that whole Humble Bundle thing, which you could literally buy for less than a Happy Meal, gets pirated anyway.

But the whole "pirates are by and large douchebags" thing is a bit of a, well...overdone thing because I won't make the equine based term here. :v

Yep. Also possible sighting of RD's father in the flashback. Unless ponies with rainbow manes, tails and Cutie Marks is a lot more common than thought.
