Pegacorn doesn't roll off the tongue very well. That said, from the wikipedia article for 'Winged unicorn':
Also known as a "Pegacorn", a winged unicorn is a fictional equine with the wings of a pegasus and the horn of a unicorn. People have commonly mistaken the word "alicorn" as a Winged Unicorn, which is actually the theoretical substance of a unicorn's horn.
Take THAT, fanboys

Positive point : the probabilities that Spike will outlive Twilight now seems low.

Negative point : we can't say the same of the rest of the mane 6. <img src="http://sae.tweek.us/static/images/emoticons/frown.gif" alt=":(">
Pinkie Pie would probably manage to survive as long, considering that such trivial things as reality have no effect on her.

Though Twilight could end up like Celestia if you go by some fan speculation I've heard, where one by one the wielders of the other Elements either died or went insane and had to be imprisoned. It'd be an interesting twist, but way too dark for a children's cartoon about friendship.

I think it would be more along the lines of this piece of fairly well-known fanart:

Except you'd replace Celestia with Princess Twilight and the old Twilight Sparkle with, I dunno...Pinkie?

lol. I just checked wiki and it seems the finale had as many songs as every other episode in the season put together.

Hmm. So overview of the season time? Again for me it seemed to be a season of OK concepts that were not well executed. I'm looking back and not seeing any episode I like unreservedly. Even the scootaloo episode.

Highpoint; wonderbolt academy, maybe?
low point: finale, too many pinkies.

[Fanfic] - Que Sera, Sera

The above fanfic is a short (~16,000 words) one shot, it's fucking beautiful, and as far as I can tell well written. I heartily recommend it.

Combined with having Wicked Game looping in my head, I think I'm going to be blue the rest of the day.

With regards to that fic

"I want a bedtime story! Spike’s are good, but yours are the best! I want the one about the brave Princesses and the evil unicorn king again, the one with the crystal ponies!"
Hmph. Just For Sidekicks is at least as good a bedtime story as The Crystal Empire would be. :colbert:

That was a good story, I'm forced to admit. That said:
A little too much Trollestia there, though: why wouldn't she just tell Luna, instead letting her sister risk her life in an attack she knew would fail and yet knew her sister would be obliged to make anyway? Same could be said with the whole attack in general and sending out her soldiers to risk their lives. If she knew it was coming ahead of time why not call up Twilight and her friends early? Why go through the motions of an actual attack and put the lives of those ponies at risk? Did she evacuate those settlements near the volcano at least? It was never made clear. But she'd be a monster not to, knowing what was to happen. What had to happen.
Eh. That and the military fanon, but whatevs. I think this story could have worked just as well without all of that, really. But hey, to each their own. The core emotional concepts were well executed, even if the "twist" was kinda sorta obvious.

Well, imo the "twist" is revealed in the fic's synopsis, so it is all about the how rather than the what I'd say.

I don't think it's in the synopsis, at least the written part. The fanart connected to it is something of a spoiler if you take the time to actually look at it, though.

Still you're right, and it is a rather enjoyable "how" overall, even with my complaints listed above.
