Probably a third party delivery service.

Is that a McD thing or is it a third party?

McDonalds. Costs a dollar or so extra. They even have a separate English language line.

Does this exist only in, uh...Belgium? I think that's where Bounty is.

I've never heard of this before. I would totally use it to get me some chicken nuggets without having to hit up a drive thru.

So I'm in an argument about Star Wars canon and continuity.

On a Power Rangers fan board. *smirk*

Admittedly it is within the context of whether or not Episode VII is going to ignore the current post-RotJ EU and/or whether Disney will give a shit, as opposed to some VS Debate nonsense which boils down to whether or not you can point to the ICS and claim victory. But still.

@ Rogue : If I'm not mistaken, Bounty is currently living in China.

Yeah, you can get McD's and KFC delivered in Moscow and Doha as well.

I find the menu differences (and differences between menu items that are named the same) intriguing.

Man, I just had a dream where I was talking to my paternal grandma.

Partway through, I realized that she was dead IRL.

I fell into her arms, crying. And she reassured me that everything was okay.

And now I'm awake, and it seems from the wetness in my eyes that the tears weren't just a dream.

Oh well. Today I'll be going to see my sister in the hospital.

If you're so inclined, you can take it as a spiritual reassurance. I would, in your position. Everything is okay.

today i woke up around noon absolutely starving

then fell asleep for another two hours and had a dream wherein i went out with friends and had fried chicken and waffles

and when i woke up it was early afternoon and i felt fully sated and not hungry at all

being able to subsist on nourishment from the dreamlands seems like it will be a useful skill to cultivate as a hobo so it's good that i am apparently a natural at it

Well, I'm leaving out the fact that this discussion happened on a bench where there was six simultaneous instances of her. :v

Man, talk about weird dreams.

But yeah, I'm not a believer, but it's pretty clear my subconscious loves me and want me to stop being so fucking worried. So I'll try.

I should maybe add that she died of a generalized cancer, and from what was told to me (she was thousands of kilometers away), she died in great pain after a long agony, screaming she didn't want to die and then not having the force to even talk the final day ; drowning in her own bodily fluids, all of this pain only because the doctors refused to give her more painkillers and oxygen (among other things, she had lung cancer).

And me, I was alone at home, and went to a party the day I learned about her demise.

My tears were about how sorry I was the doctors treated her so badly and I couldn't do anything about it.

And as I type this, it seems a few specks of dust managed to find their ways into my eyes.

I have this recurring dream where Oma (grandma) isn't dead, its so convincing that I had to ask my wife if she was really dead. Even though I helped scatter her ashes in her favourite place on earth.

And for what its worth, I'm sorry she had to go like that.

Anyway, passed the message to my dad. Said it was good. Especially because he "can't stop thinking about it" (he and my mother were the ones to take care of her until the end).

Said he has had that kind of dream were he was reunited with his mother and father a number of times now. Say he only hope he could have more of them. Noticed slight breaks in his voice.

I can only get pizza delivered here (along with pastas and salads and so forth from this one so-so restaurant) and maybe "Chinese" food if I call the right place.

There's a third party delivery service available, but it's a little expensive (relatively speaking) and I'm not in one of their coverage areas.

While true, that's not what I was thinking of. The biggest standout was that McDonald's clearly has a different chicken supplier for their non-signature items. It makes sense, but still was a bit jarring the first time I ordered a McChicken and got something very different than what I was expecting. I actually prefer the one in Qatar, it's spicier and juicier.

On KFC's side, they pretty clearly use the older, pre-trans fat elimination recipes in those countries, and here's the weird one, the biscuits, which are in my opinion pretty much the only reason to go to KFC, are not what I would call biscuits, but something much closer to a roll.

The funny part is that I wouldn't have discovered either without the delivery availability, as I learned of the differences when I tore my tendon on a trip to both countries that resulted in me being virtually unable to walk for a few weeks.

A random encounter with a friend of mine has led to a job interview with the uni as a tutor. (Not the running classes kind, but the helping people kind.)

That's pretty awesome.
