I'm just concerned because I've never interacted with him without the group present, and he does have PTSD, so I don't want to do something to freak him out. I know the big things my friends mentioned before we hung out as a group were "don't surprise him," and "don't talk about the war."
Yeah don't suprise him, at all. And don't talk about the war unless he does.
If your concerned, then PM me your info and I'll call the local fuzz if you don't check in a couple of days.

You're basically engaged in a form of victim-blaming, there. Most people are acculturated to only care about rather narrow groupings of subjects and not to think critically about societal problems. Saying that the victims of this acculturation are responsible for the problems in society is putting the cart before the horse, to a certain extent.
oh it is on, i talked to a guy who fixes these things and he said baking it can reflow the solder joints which fixes this problem like three out of four times
wow it fucking stinks tho. all the doors and windows are open now, i hope it doesn't cool too fast and crack again. but i'm prolly gonna have to clean the oven before cooking anything to eat now
: "Hey guys I have a problem with my computer--"
: "Format and reinstall."
: "But you haven't even heard what the problem is..."
:"Doesn't matter, format and reinstall."
: "Okay, I guess..."

the process is complete and i have good news and i have bad news
the good is it worked - the thing powered on, green light, no beep. looks like the solder connection was successfully fixed
the bad is the a/v connector melted. the hdmi thing next to it, insulated the same way, was fine, but this thing must be made of different stuff as it is totally misshapen now and i had to bust it apart just to reassemble the unit. since my tv doesn't have hdmi.... this is kinda a problem and i can't be sure it *actually* worked and obviously can't use it anyway
i figure i'll cut the end off one of my spare a/v cables and solder the wires directly to the board so this isn't a dealbreaker. i've had enough of this for now tho, maybe next weekend

It happened barely 2 hours and a half ago. Reports are still scarce.
I'm hearing right now on the TV that they apparently have found several explosive devices in the city, somewhere else than where the explosions happened.
Yeah, I saw the news. I figure if she was there that odds are shes fine.
If I've heard right, the explosions happened as the first runners where reaching the finish line. And the explosions happened in the public.
