I think everyone's life would be vastly improved if we can always remember that communication has three components:

1) The message itself
2) The person sending the message
3) The person receiving the message

Because goddamn.

There's been a stray cat who somehow got in the apartment building we just moved into. We find out he's been wandering the halls for over a week, surviving off the occasional meal other tenants leave out for him. We've taken him in, at least to keep him fed, warm, and safe until we can find a more permanent family to adopt him, as we already have three kitties.

Achievement unlocked: Crazy cat people.

So, Australia is the global piracy king when it comes to Game of Thrones. This year, they cut deals with iTunes and Quickflix to provide episodes on the same schedule as the US in addition to the existing deal with our local Pay TV network.

However, Foxtel has gotten it's big swinging dick out and smashed up the deals and gone back to exclusive rights on PayTV for next year. So umm, yeah, I guess that's the end of my foray into paying to watch GoT on the American schedule. Thanks Foxtel. Way to fight piracy.

weemadando, this shouldn't be a suprise at all. It was amazing that iTunes/Quickflix even got a look in before thier deal was shredded.

The Foxtel deal isn't final yet apparently, it's just what they're pushing for. I'll be interested to see if HBO saw enough money flowing from other channels this year to say "nope, not with that clause".

Does anyone actually get Foxtel for anything other than sport?

I'm sure there are sad fucks who want to watch Real Housewives of wherever or every variant on "obnoxious pricks buy shit from desperate people" and haven't heard of the internet.

I generally don't like downloading, so I have Foxtel for things like the Comedy Channel, Classics, and things like that.

I don't like downloading, but the cost per actual show I'd watch on Foxtel is way too high. Maybe one day if their on demand services get better as I can't/won't do "appointment television".

Also, I don't want to give any more money to the great beast.

We just tape it and watch at leisure. No appointments here unless its something I'm likely to see on twitter.

Moving to a HTPC setup later this year could be interesting - may have a lot more options for streaming as don't have to rely on whatever 360 will support.

I am hoping that this Sunday I will get to watch GoT when it airs. Well, Pacific Time, anyway.

I am a day past 'deadline' and I haven't been able to edit this piece of crap article into something publishable. Half the god damn conference came up to me to congratulate me on my fucking paper but it's an unstructured cluttered mess on paper. Fucking hell.

I was part of a focus group dealing with what's wrong with the masters program. We all voiced our fury over the poorly run aspects, and I scored a bunch of food.

Then I went to an anti-homophobia rally. I voiced my support for the GLBTQI people at uni by signing a banner and getting my picture taken next to it, and I scored a bunch of food courtesy of the uni vegan group.

A good day for me. I'm full and paid nothing.
