Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
Re: Testing Chat V: The Mysterious Island
I went to a thing tonight where they get a bunch of food trucks together and everyone comes out and eats food on the street. Then I met a mayoral candidate for the 3rd time in a week; dude is everywhere. Then I went to our Taste of Edmonton festival with my friend and her dog and holy shit her dog is popular. Then I went to a patio party at an art gallery on a whim and met a dude I only knew thru online interactions, and ran into Mr. Please-Vote-For-Me again… Anyway I ended up going for dinner with a bunch of people I didn't know. I haven't done that in a long time. It was good, then we went dancing and I had some fun but I realized I'd promised I would be home hours ago and now it's 2am.
Yes, Los, I'm coping.

I watched that one clip from the first episode of The Newsroom this afternoon; then I watched the first six episodes back-to-back. Damn that show is awesome.
Also, wish me luck for my biannual clothes shopping trip tomorrow. One store, six months' worth of pants and shirts: let's see if this year I can break my 21 minutes record.

I like it too. The first season is pretty good but I wish the second season tackled current events instead of looking at past events with hindsight in mind. Change it up, you know?Bounty wrote:I watched that one clip from the first episode of The Newsroom this afternoon; then I watched the first six episodes back-to-back. Damn that show is awesome.

so I'm watching the Mamma Mia film
and it's actually pretty good
and it's actually pretty good
Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island On Patrol
What I don't like (this is just from season one as I've yet to start season two) is the 20/20 hindsight making the right call all the time. Like waiting for President Obama to announce the Bin Laden raid when any news producer who made that call with every other network on air with BIN LADEN DEAD would have been fired immediately.Negative Knub wrote:I like it too. Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island On Patrol
anyway so in Mamma Mia the central relationship is between the main character and her mother, and after that the relationship between the mother and her two friends
the three potential fathers are reasonably well developed, but ultimately Pierce Brosnan marries the mother as a reward (from the narrative) for her letting her daughter go to live her own life. The protagonist's fiancée is almost a non-entity. It was an interesting flip to see a film where women take the central roles, and the men are relegated to being supporting characters.
Plus it was actually a pretty good film.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island On Patrol
Can anybody recommend me a dating site that isn't OKCupid? I feel like I'm wasting my time when girls who I matched 90+% with won't message me back.
Okay that's not strictly true. The ones that did message back were all one-word-answer type and either totally incapable of or unwilling to hold up their end of the conversation.
And there was the one that was pretty cool and chatty but her dad's some kind of overprotective lunatic.
