I had to pause it several times and leave the room because the badness was piling up too high

Anyway, finished watching Equestria Girls.

You know what, fuck the haters : I liked it.

It isn't perfect fo' sure, but it was really enjoyable, and I liked the feel of the movie.

It felt good. Optimist. Like FiM.

The animation was really good, the gags were funny, the character dynamic felt... in-character, and I liked how it ended.

Anyway I really liked EG. It was pretty cool how Twilight's introductions to her friends resembled that of the pilot without being totally the same (except Fluttershy, but even then she didn't just happen to run into her so a bit difference, and her nervousness was rather justified). Nice parallels. Plus how they all clearly had prior relationships with each other, as was the case as the show went on, and once more it was Twilight who brought this group of them together. As well as, of course, everyone else. She sure has come a long way, hasn't she?

Because I was too lazy to retype it. Plus snagged Oxy's thoughts so I could present the opinions of a refined Frenchman to back up my assessment.
