So I have a cavity I've been sitting on until I can be sure I can both afford to get it drilled and pay my tuition.
It would cost everybody involved a hell of a lot less if I didn't have to worry about that.

I just don't understand why dentistry is treated differently from any other kind of specialism

And because the rich people of the country are the only people allowed to have good teeth. The rest of us are stuck following the Law of Britain.

Since when does anyone in Britain have good teeth?
That entire side of my family has a mouth full of fillings, crowns, etc. Everyone from my grandparent's generation had dentures. It wasn't till my cousins that anyone even had decent teeth.

Finally got my bandages off today.
I hadn't been able to take a shower or even wash my hands since tuesday because of them.
Incidentally, today the temperature has reached 40°C.

Ugh. I want to experiment with film photography but there are no places in my entire state that develop slide film. I can outsource it, but it's hells expensive. I guess I'll just use print film.

the only reason i need a stable job with benefits is to take care of my teeth, but i don't want to chain myself to a desk for anyoneFlagg wrote:Pray it away.RyanThunder wrote:Our NHS doesn't cover dentistry at all.

i had a tooth pulled last year because it got so bad, and I expect I have a couple more to go before I'm okay
I have one tooth that went and fell apart on me, half is missing. That's been that way since April '12, while I was in NYC. Cavities that are bothering me (likely leading to root canal and crown) on the other side now. Fuck.
Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
I have a nasty throat infection. Swallowing burns so bad it takes me half an hour to work through a sandwiched soaked in milk. Talking is even worse. I can whisper a bit but every syllable is like a thumbnail in raw flesh.
So of course my mom thinks it's a good idea to CALL to ask how I am. It's not like she did it once, it's been three days running now. I really appreciate she's concerned about me and I'm forever grateful she picked up my medication but COME ON. I keep ending emails and text messages to her with SPEAKING IS HORRIBLE PAIN but for some reason it just doesn't register at all.

My God did I forget how difficult it is to play guitar and sing at the same time, especially when there are a plethora of chord changes. Six months without much time playing an acoustic guitar = fingers hurt like a mofo.

Six months of practice down the tracks you'll be worrying about how hard it is to sing and solo at the same time.Negative Knub wrote:My God did I forget how difficult it is to play guitar and sing at the same time, especially when there are a plethora of chord changes. Positive Vent:
It looks like I got a new job. I'll be Head Coach of a much more competitive team (that also happens to be my Alma Mater), get the same amount of pay, roughly equivalent official title, and have teaching responsibilities.
To say I'm nervous is an understatement.
