The sad part about the new Doctor is that I bet all the execs are sitting around pulling each others pud over what a brave decision they made in choosing a middle aged guy to play him.
Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I honestly don't think they care at all about being brave or whatever

I watched Brave the other day. It was alright I guess. Not Pixar's best film, but virtually everything they do is gold so their allowed to have a "meh" once and a while.

I'm pretty confident BBC execs actually couldn't give a shit.Flagg wrote:The sad part about the new Doctor is that I bet all the execs are sitting around pulling each others pud over what a brave decision they made in choosing a middle aged guy to play him.

But I used the phrase "more seriously" in the very next sentence while contradicting what I had just said... IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE CLEAR!Bounty wrote:your sarcasm didn't register

So, entertainingly crazy people...
I stumbled on this while looking for info on early warfare. I don't think I've ever seen anyone run with the dung ages view of history quite so hard. As far as I can tell their thesis is pretty much that human sociality as we know it is a modern phenomenon and basically every culture before 1900 was some kind of Green Antarctica-like surrealistic nightmare of rape and evil.
Their page on tribal cultures is ... something to behold. I can only imagine how offensive it would be to somebody from one of the cultures being described so...
I'm not sure what's better, that they think non-Progressives are that way because they've been psychologically broken by child abuse or the general massive streak of gynophobia that runs through the whole thing.
I'm browsing some of their other pages, stay tuned in case there's anything else ... interesting (I have the feeling this rabbit hole goes deeper).

this is mostly tl;dr so i'm just skimming and a lot of it leaves me saying for one prove it, and for two is that necessarily bad....
...but i think the jist of their big picture argument might just have merit: that childrearing technique can have a big impact on other events. society is a collection of individuals so it makes sense to me that if they feel insecurities from previous life events that could combine into big picture decisions

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I saw an ad for it. "How did such an annoying show become so popular " or something like that.
He was the guy who did the whole "why do girls like Loki he's not even MANLY", right?
