Yeah, the problem of the Green Party here, as far as I can tell, is that there's just so many currents internally, and so many high profile "leaders", that they spend more time in (ineffectually) trying to solve internal dissensions than when they try to act on national policies, they rarely speak in a single voice, and it just gets... confusing. And it achieve nothing.

Sometimes, too much democracy end up killing democracy, if you see what I mean.

Plus, they're currently wed to the current "socialist" government. Though they got betrayed on every promises that had been made to them to make them join the government (and for the Socialist Party to get the vote of the Greens' electorate).

Basically, they just reek of "we are the losing team, please kick us we won't protest" to me.

They're not here to actually win, but just to get enough voices to stay kinda relevant. They're not, in my eyes, a "true", power-ready party, but more of a well developed lobby with its own politicians.
No.

oh so they're actually a part of the government? The Greens over here never have been, so they've never really had their ideals tested, which is probably the real cause of the differences with your ones

but anyway the tories are vermin, the liberals are untrustworthy, and labour are trying to distance themselves from the unions for some bizarre reason and more importantly I consider a lot of them guilty of war crimes for voting for the Iraq war (the same goes for the tories, but they're scum anyway so there's no chance of me voting for them anyway). So I can't in good conscience support any of the main parties

the Greens will not form a government in my lifetime, but I'm more for them for the whole 'shifting the overton window' thing (like UKIP have done, making the main parties go more anti-Europe). That's the upside of politicians who believe in nothing except winning elections and say and do what opinion polls tell them to: change the direction of public opinion, and like a leaf in the wind they'll they'll follow that current.

"oh so they're actually a part of the government?"

Well, not for long, if they finally manage to find their metaphorical guts (not to use another sexist term) and flip the bird to the socialists after the number of time the socialists betrayed their words on promises they had made to convince them to join the government (and to get their votes. mostly to get their votes).

lol
that reminds me of something a liberal democrat guy said in an interview today, about if they could possibly break up the coalition before the next election, and his response was 'well, maybe if they did something ridiculous, like David Cameron wanted to invade France'
having actual power and influence, even if it's only a little bit, must be such a temptation after years of working out in the political wilderness... I almost feel sorry for them

Why the fuck do people think that, if you ask for help to understand something, being condescending to you will help you learn instead of just piss you right the fuck off?!

well I know when I act condescending, it's specifically to piss people off :v
also 'wait help me understand what you're saying here' can come across as a sort of sarcastic attack sometimes online, don't know if that's relevant here though

So over the past few days, i've been experiencing some sort of pressure or tension in my eyes. I've been putting drops in to no avail. It almost feels like i've pulled a muscle in my eye or something and when I focus or look at things it hurts. Has anyone else here ever experienced something like this?

Well According to WebMD, I either have Diabetes, Endocarditis, or some form of eye injury.

I'm kind of rooting for the last one, but I can't remember injuring my eyes at all recently.

no I mean go see your doctor. Tomorrow if possible (or shit maybe today, what's the time where you are?). Don't fuck around with your health, especially something as important as your eyesight.

Those sites are worthless because you, not being a medical professional, don't even really know the right questions to ask, yet alone how to interpret the answers you'll get. But I'm sure you know that.

how debilitating is it? Might be worth your while to go along to your local hospital's A&E department

Not very. I'm not having any problems seeing or anything. It just feels like a persistent case of eye strain.

EDIT: Which is actually what I thought it was at first. This isn't the first time i've experienced something like this, the only thing unusual is the timeframe. It usually goes away after like one or two days.

Go offline for a day. Don't put your eyes under any of the usual strain you put them under (staring at a computer monitor for most of a day for example). It sounds like eyestrain, but if it persists then it may be a symptom of a larger problem.

See if you can get into an optometrist. Your regular doctor can probably help, but a dedicated eye doctor is probably better. Might even get in earlier.

And a regular optometrist in their office, not one of those eyeglass store ones.

It's not. It's a forum for asking finish questions on a board on woodworking.

If it's like in France, you have to wait six month before getting an appointment.

And no, this isn't an exaggeration.

Edit : wait no, I was talking about ophthalmologists. We don't have dedicated optometrists here.

So it seems like this is just a more severe case of the shit that usually happens to my eyes this time of year due to dryness and sinus issues. I think i'm going to ask my GP for some prescription eye drops or sinus medication.

You're a little late dude. I was able to sleep last night.

Though, as a result, I'm up early on a Saturday. On the plus side, I'll be able to get the stuff I wanted to do yesterday after work done today.

Years ago I injured my neck.

Occasionally it gets irritated, so to speak, and pains me.

Today was one of those days.

In unrelated news, I have been in a bad fucking mood all day long.

I sold my old car. Yay!

Now I can pay for the damage I caused when I backed my dad's car out of the driveway and into the tow truck of the guy who bought my car.

Lesson learned: don't cut it too close when there's a risk of you car slipping sideways off the curb.
People in glass trousers shouldn't shit bricks.
