In context, it's like a goldmine of why this thread exists in the first place.

1) The thread was dead for three days, and before that the discussion had turned quite civil again, with the main antagonistic elements having fled. The 'shit' was effectively cut until he necro'd it. Way to shoot yourself in the foot.
2) It took thirty pages and well over a month of shit (plus specific requests from posters) before any reaction. Way to stay on top of the situation.
3) Mods have already been and gone in the thread with no real change to the substance, one of them being regarded as one of the more 'unpleasant' mods. Way to posture.
4) Pretty much every major participant in the discussion has flat out stated that they don't care if the thread gets locked or HoS'd. Way to restore faith in the management.

I'm guessing he finally read Jimmy's report of my posts, your posts, and Zab's posts, and decided that he had to do something to appease him. Or else he decided to check the thread again. But maybe he'll provide an aegis for GMC Jimmy and Melfdart to return.

Following Shroom and Bakky's lead, let's see if we can't turn that dragon thread down more... interesting paths.

So just like with Zor and all the RAR thingies, sometimes inane stuff leads to interesting paths of discussions which we wouldn't touch upon if it hadn't been for all the teenagers, the socially inept, the morons and the overeager members of the board.
Which I find much more interesting than all the other inanity we get from testingstan which doesn't provide as many opportunities of interesting paths.
