It doesn't really bother me much, since the email for that is largely my disposable account. You could have also asked Rabid, as he knows my email (well one of them.)

Actually I did early in November and I can take a screengrab to prove it. Sadly I'm guessing you didn't receive it which is why I kept checking and never got a reply last time you responded. Sorry bout that.

There's the Goto Deathwatch novels (which aren't bad, although the second one is not as good as the first) - probably Goto's best work. The other novel (so far) is by the vastly-superior (in my tastes) Steve Parker featuring his Deathwatch team Talon Squad from the various short stories. There's also a 'Xenos Hunters' anthology, which has some of those same short stories.

I was handed off news about a KS project from the guy at Battlegrip. He's done a bunch of coffee table type books about action figures and he's moved onto doing EU based Star Wars stuff. Thought you guys might be interested.

Going through Heir to the Empire on audio book after not reading it for ages and I'd forgotten how good it was.

Battlefront reveal trailer. I know some people here have XBOX Ones and like DICE battlefield games. Anyone up for some multi?

And mine dissipates

Lack of single player upsets me. I can still play BattleFront 1 and 2 today, years after the servers have been shut down, just because they have galactic conquest and instant action. This is going to be multi only, with the typical price-gouged expansion bullshit. I guess DICE would rather focus on properly rendering dust specks and reflective surfaces than providing content.

I've already been burned by 2 DICE games before I bought BF3 and 4 on recommendations from friends, only for them to immediately move on to other games, leaving me with no one to play with and two very expensive coasters. If i hadn't already wasted nearly 200$ on DICE games that just fucking sit there, I might be willing to give this a shot. As it is, if they don't announce Galactic Conquest or at least fucking botmatches so that I can at least get some value out of the game once the 3-month period of peak online activity ends, i'm not touching this.

Fuck Multiplayer only. Especially if they're allegedly only going to show that battle which ended up with crashed Star Destroyers on there. Bah.

That sort of thing shouldn't be relegated to games anyway. It just makes me wish SW adopted Paramount's approach to canon: movies and TV shows only, everything else is "that's nice but we don't care"

I've heard rumblings that the "Mission" mode will essentially be the same as the Instant Action mode from the old Battlefront games. If that turns out to be the case, I can live without a campaign.

In other news, here is a summary of a panel regarding the new canon policy from SW Celebration. Of particular interest to me is the fact that the story group is apparently open to re-visiting the Legends continuity once they have the initial nuCanon blitz out of the way.

RE: "keeping things consistent everywhere" yeah, good luck with that. :fukyu:

Don't know how I feel about their "retelling the OT and PT to fit the new canon" because fuck you guys they are the highest canon and I don't give a shit about your new policy. But then I vaguely recall people saying they contradict each other between the OT and PT though for the life of me I can't remember how. So in that case only I can accept that, maybe.

But if they contradict anything else - and yes that includes my beloved TCW - then it should be the latter that gets a retcon, not trying to have the OT and PT "fit the new canon" because that should be the other way around and the implication that the 'new EU' would ever matter more than anything with Episodes I - IX in the title is asinine.
