Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
What a relief. The forecast has little to no chance of rain this week.

I was watching the Nostalgia Critic's review of Temple of Doom and I noticed for the first time that Indy pronounces the Chinese warlord's name right

Can we please fast forward about 5 years so that the most vocal wailing and gnashing of teeth about the "nightmare" of allowing gay marriage can just go the fuck away?
Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
Ah, yes. I suppose living in fucking Texas these days must be an even more cringe-worthy experience than usual.
No.

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
Not as much as you might think. I've not encountered anyone in person expressing an opinion one way or the other.
Still, it's hard to not hear a ton of complaining even when you tend to avoid a lot of news because it's mostly noise. Especially when the governor and state attorney were mouthing off about defying the ruling. I think they backed off later, but still...
Keep in mind, also, that our junior senator is Ted fucking Cruz.

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
i actually complained out loud about the whole anti gay marriage nonsense. like i really don't understand why people even care, if anything, this *protects* 'traditional' marriage by not rendering it obsolete by a larger group of people!

That sounds interesting. Expand, if you will?

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
Marriage is already becoming less common; people don't feel it is necessary or desirable in their lives. If homosexuals couldn't get married at all, they'd surely continue living their lives without it - demonstrating that it isn't that important. So when someone is comtemplating marriage they might say "my gay friends don't do it and they are cool so i won't either".
Now though, that ~10% of the population can get married and likely will, soaring the marriage rate and reinforcing that it is a desirable thing for younger couples. I betcha countries with gay marriage have more marriages than those without, even if you adjust for the rate of homosexuals and other factors. I'm too much of a lazy ignoramus to actually test that hypothesis tho.

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
So, I weighed myself today.
59 kilograms (130 Lbs).
For reference, I'm 170cm tall (5'6").
I was still thinking I was 63-65 kilograms.
This came as a bit of a shock to me.
I'm happy about this.

Oxy, I mean you no offense when I say this, but you are a tiny dude.
I've got more than 15 cm and over 45 kilos on you. Granted I'm bigger than the average; it's like we're book-ending it.

Yes. Although not that much. For a girl I'm just average sized.

And so the saga of the manure ends with me paying for its removal, a destroyed friendship and a gate being put up at either end of the property with a "GTFO" sign on it.
Shoulda just sued.
