Re: SandyWatch 2012
somehow we still have power in wilmington.
i guess nyc and connecticut are getting it worse right now, since they're farther east. here, the winds are borderline tropical storm force and the rain is steady, but our little river hasn't flooded yet.
it'll rake over us tonight. i've never seen the eye of a hurricane, and i wish i could, but i don't think there really is one here.

Boo fucking hoo. I went through 8 of these motherfuckers, 4 in one year all of which were stronger than this pissant storm. But I guess since I was in flyover country it didn't matter. :V
Re: SandyWatch 2012
We're getting gusts of wind up in the Bronx powerful enough to give the building a shake. Fun times.

Re: SandyWatch 2012
Where will Trump land his Trumpcopter now that the heliport's flooded? And what will the humidity do to his hair?!?! Think of the children!
And how much will Bloomberg lose with a closed stock exchange. My heart bleeds into my arteries, renewing my brain.
Oh wait, I'm supposed to care about the suffering of New Yorkers in a flood.
Fuck you. Get some takeout and ride an elevator until the storm subsides, you petulant shits. It's just some water and wind. Noo fucking Yawwk has been there since colonial times and will live through this. Suck it up and stop yer fucking whining.
I must say, though, Connecticut's governor is one of the most hysterical pussies I've ever had the displeasure of hearing before my first cup of coffee. “This is the most catastrophic event that we have faced and been able to plan for in any of our lifetimes. And we continue to do everything in our power to make sure that we’re ready and that our citizens are fully cognizant of what they should be doing,” Malloy said. Really? Really?
Oh look, the lights went out in Broadway. I bet it's a bit too cold and windy for looting this time around.

The amount of garbage washed up in the first image is remarkable.

Re: SandyWatch 2012
i'm hearing shit about like a dozen buildings on fire and at least two collapses with black tags all over the fucking street
edit: firefighters having to drive literally miles out of the way to avoid flooding, several hospitals chronically low on fuel for generators, etc

I'm just glad the report of a fire in a hospital turned out to be a car on fire outside it. Would have been about the worst case scenario.
Re: SandyWatch 2012
There are 15 houses on fire in Queens and they are likely to spread further.

This is the Con Ed powerhouse at 14th St. and Avenue D. The explosion starts about 3:10.

Re: SandyWatch 2012
So basically fuck all the dead, homeless, and displaced people. A shitty shuttle prototype was slightly damaged! OUTRAGE!
Re: SandyWatch 2012
Timmy fucking told you it should have gone to the Museum on the other side of the country that's conveniently near where he live !
