i love how supposedly it has all the scripts written for it, it's ready to go, but lucas doesn't want to commit because the vfx are too expensive to bring to the TV screen

he's either goddamn lying or self-deluded, but either way i have precisely zero interest in the franchise anyway to give a shit

because if it's true it shows lucas doesn't fucking know how a TV show even gets made, but the 'reason' for not doing it sounds more like an 'excuse' that he just 'made up' (i.e. lied about)

@Stofsk: Lucas might be making excuses, or he might really be being as silly about the budgeting as he makes himself out to be- His claim is that he'd want the WHOLE TV series to have the same level of VFX as the films (no corners cut anywhere).
Really, that would be crazy expensive. The silly thing is that he could do thimgs much cheaper, you just don't throw that kind of money at a TV show.
Which would point at the possibility that he just doesn't get how TV shows are made.

As for the 'underworld' setting itself, it could go either way. If it's well-executed, it would be worth watching (but isn't just about anything?).
It doesn't have the kind of pressure on it that the prequels had (i.e. it won't be compared to the OT so much), but that doesn't mean that George can't fuck it up royally anyway.
