Meh, the latest version of Vue Infinite is more than my ageing Quadro FX570 can handle, buying a newer budget level card would only bite me in the arse again a couple years down the line so I bit the bullet and made a big dent in my credit card on Quadro 4000.
Pretty sure I can write it off as a business expense anyway.

I think it's justifiable if it makes you money.

Getting my car back right now and I got the go ahead to order my new computer. Week is ending much better than it started. It's even snowing again!

Well no I mean getting some ridiculous $$$ toy because you want to play video games is dumb, but if it earns you a return (and it actually returns more than it cost) its justifiable. Video games would be a bonus. I don't know anything about video cards tho so I'm assuming Nostril actually knows what he needs for his work.

A £600 Nvidia Geforce whatever would be a stupid toy seeing as the last game I got was Portal for free through Steam and never bothered finishing it, a £600 (£1300 retail) Nvidia Quadro is a necessity because my cheap ass entry level card starts shitting kittens when I ask it to do any serious work with the latest version of Vue, a newer version entry level card would only be good for another couple of versions before I start hitting the limits of buying cheap again.
Had to bite the bullet & remortgage the cat to get something that's going to handle everything I throw at it.

Worth doing, drinking for the sake of drinking is a bad place to be.

That's not as creepy to me as keeping the cremated remains of the deceased, which many people do. Actually sounds like a fairly nice keepsake to be honest, it's not going to wither like a flower or take up a lot of space.

ashes are actually physically a part of the person

the bullet casing never even went near the person; its just a reminder of a loud, futile noise

are YOUR relatives loud futile noises? ;V

Mom made a lot of loud and futile noises when I was in high school.

I just think it's more bizarre to keep cremated remains around more so than a small keepsake from the funeral itself, the casing being part of the ceremony and reflecting of the fact that the person who had passed had done something important in their life to warrant a special send-off.

We had my first dog cremated, (which lead the funeral home including the stupid fairy tale rainbow gate letter that made me angry) but in retrospect the ceder box with the still sealed bag of ashes is less important than the five dollar picture frame with a photo taken on a disposable camera that sits on top.

being buried in a degradable container and then having something planted over the body seems like a really nice thing to do imo

Yeah bringing and sustaining new life. Man I think I'd rather have a tree planted on me then just sit in there.
