The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
just for shits i looked up the price of a macbook
$1000
fuck no. even if that didn't include the exploitation of the world proletariat that's just not worth it by any stretch of the imagination
that's more expensive than all my current computers combined!
i'll just fix the key
then six months later when the next one goes
i'll fix it too
maybe after five years if it is really a patchwork of toothpicks and scotch tape i'll consider buying something new
but i'll be more likely to get a $20-$50 external keyboard to lug around with it than a fucking $1000 device
jesus christ

Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
Funny, I have a MacBook. I have an Air, I also have a PC issued by work.
The HDD on the MacBook fails every 8 months like clockwork.
I prefer the work Dell as a primary computer for travel/work. The air is nice for bootup speeds and testing (it's running 10.8 server at the moment) the MBP makes a great desktop replacement, but I'm not a fan of bootcamp/vm when I fly, as I never get IT people in the seat next to me and they always want to talk about "Windows on a Mac, that's just wrong man, way wrong."
If I buy another Mac it'll be another Air or an iMac. I'll stick with a Dell laptop until the next redesign, and then reevaluate based on whether that sucks.

Ps my mum can use a MacBook
If you can't
You're just a fucking retard, the end
but you can't actually do anything on it
ever try using office on a mac? it's horrible compared to the windows version
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
I like the Excel better on Mac actually.
Hate word and PowerPoint though.

the laptop i have now i purchased new for $350 and that was a tough decision to justify.uraniun235 wrote:adr what price would you consider purchasing a macbook (or any new laptop) at
i have previously purchased a $450 laptop for a friend though. she uses it a lot more often and for a lot more stuff than i would, so spending a little more makes sense there.
but all i use mine for is to keep up to date on work while i'm watching the babies. no need for fancy features
though i don't feel that i compromised on much with the one i have. i'm happy with it and if it had a slightly nicer keyboard i'd be very pleased with it

You're a nerd right
And MY MUM is better with computers than you
Sorry if that ruins your self identity
Ps cheap people don't buy apple products, news at eleven
Apple actually says 'fuck off we don't care about you' to people like ADR which makes me laugh openly
Hahah my mum is more skilled than zod
What a lol

Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
Well yeah nobody feels bad for not buying overpriced Mercedes or whatever
I mean even if they were better are they 4x the cost better? Clearly no
But my experience is that tablets are more usable than net books
Although I'm using the netbook as a router ATM which obviously I can't do with my iPad lol sooooooo

Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
surely comes down to what you do on it
programming has a lot of like symbols and is case sensitive
like
that would probably be pure pain to input there, switching back and forth between symbols and letters and having to watch the caps and tabs
i guess maybe there could be a custom keyboard via the touchscreen
ima check the app store....... eh i don't see one, at least not for free
even fi there was, there'd still be the issue of using a lot of screen space
i just don't see myself being at all productive on this thing.
oh and my email program is a keyboard only app. i can load it via ipad but can't really use it b/c there's no arrow or ctrl keys.
i could use an ipad email app but then it won't sync up with my desktop the same way. blargh this is a solvable problem by installing more server shit
but gah not worth the hassle
anywho one other option is to get a bluetooth keyboard for the thing but there goes the main diff between tablets and netbooks anyway

Code: Select all
if(wtf!"lol" != "rofl" || [1,2,3].length < 3) {
vile(a => e.w - 1);

adr go Droid tablet. Macs are for dummies people who just want to use what they're given to accomplish a limited set of tasks. The best thing about an iPhone is its screen.

you know that most of the quality android tablets cost about the same as an ipad right?Count Chocula wrote:adr go Droid tablet. Macs are fordummiespeople who just want to use what they're given to accomplish a limited set of tasks. The best thing about an iPhone is its screen.
the cheap ones are a hit or miss and might not even have what you need

Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
So I get an email from mom asking why I haven't called since dad went in for surgery to get his colon reconnected. That's fine, no excuse its on me. But I call and she starts talking about them feeling disconnected from us and that we don't have a relationship. And that dad feels the same way but won't tell anyone.
So I ask whatt they want to talk about and how to go about it because I just don't understand. She says it's not on her to tell me how to relate to dad.
OK, dad wants more but no one will say what or how. Am I a magician? Until today I thought things were fine. And of course she uses management/coach speak so now I have to use magic and buy a douchebag dictionary.

Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
the main reason to get one is if you're cheap and don't want to spend more than $200 on a tablet. But there's mountains of crap to sift through to find something decent.starku wrote:the horror of android usability and consistency has to be seen to be believed

Aaron, mortality does wierd things to people. Even if your dad isn't really in danger they might be feeling the end of life being very close and this can make people morbid and selfish. Don't take it personal.

I think I'm more confused at this point, I mean I was pissed but now I'm going "what?"starku wrote:Aaron, mortality does wierd things to people. She came out with "no matter what you think ofus as parents we still love you"
I didn't even know how to answer that or what she's talking about.
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
my mom's back is hurting her
she said she might have to go to the hospital like 30 minutes ago
but she all our questions and concerns about whether she wanted to go off
then she put stuff in the laundry and got mad because she saw my dad had budlight in the garage (THE HORROR)
she went back to her two jobs a little early
they're giving her some concessions to post knee surgery but the part time Macy's job still had her on until 11 pm
she gets upset and frets over money
ps in the last week she got five packages in the mail from QVC

Or they might just be cunts. It happens.
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
What no, the only reason why mom and I don't get on is because we have nothing in common.
Dans probably right, I'm gonna leave it for a while and talk to my sister.
