If you buy a farm, Aaron, you must wear suspenders. The beard's a good idea too.

Short version:
The government has been illegally deducting the amount of our VAC pensions from the long term disability we pay into and receive if medically released. So they owe me personally many thousands and vets as a whole around 300 million.

Aaron, is it the USG that's doing this crapwork or Ottawa? I have a cousin who's retired Army so I'm curious.

Oh OK, sorry about your situation but at least my cousin can still get VA PTSD coverage. I hope you get that farm. Ottawa's too damn close to France Quebec!

Are you going to have any dairy animals? Are you going to make cheese?
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
Just remember that goats will eat anything and everything. Even your pants.
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
Probably not, looking at a couple chickens, a pig and a turkey. A couple lhama's as well. The Spartan wrote:Are you going to have any dairy animals? Are you going to make cheese?

So fresh eggs and wool then? Are the pig and turkey going to be more like barnyard pets or is there a dinner table in their future?

The lhamas are more as pets, because Val likes them but yeah, eggs and the turkey and pig will eventually get eaten. The Spartan wrote:So fresh eggs and wool then? Are the pig and turkey going to be more like barnyard pets or is there a dinner table in their future?

It's like kosher, but from the other side of the religious divide. We First Worlders, with our hygiene and fire and cooking, can ignore the Old Testament and enjoy delicious pork.

Other side of the religious divide?
Man, you Abrahamic-centric people are funny. Y'all the same to me: Jews, Christians, Muslims.
So by next few minutes I meant who the fuck knows because I still don't know what's going on. If this was anyone else I'd have ended it myself, but I can sympathize with her confusion and internal conflict. Family is a funny thing. They want what's best for you, but it you're worried they won't accept your grown up decision are they really enabling you to live your life?

So with the pork belly, bacon is the obvious way to go, but are you going to cook some of it fresh? I've had that before at a tapas place where they marinaded it in spices and molasses and then smoked it with applewood.Aaron wrote:The lhamas are more as pets, because Val likes them but yeah, eggs and the turkey and pig will eventually get eaten.

The prohibition on pork made sense when there was no refrigeration cause of disease and shit, but these days not so much. A Jordanian coworker of mine eats beef but not pork because "Pigs eat their shit. Why would I eat an animal that eats its own shit!?" I say hey, as long as I don't get e coli I'mma eat the bacon, but he's OK in my book. I'm guessing he don't eat dog meat either, because THEY eat their shit too. Fire is goooodddd.Phantasee wrote:Other side of the religious divide?

On the impending maybe breakup: man, you have some complicated emotional shit going down Phant. Hope you make a decision you can live with. (yes I ended a sentence with a preposition, sue me.) Tequila helps but if you take too much of the breakup juice you won't touch it for years. Don't ask me how I know that.

Sure go ahead.
Re: The Testingtard's Lament: Boo-Hoo-in' Revolution
One year we had a pig roast at the gun club, I'd like to do that, so maybe two hogs. I'll probably get most of it done as sausage and stuff. The Spartan wrote:So with the pork belly, bacon is the obvious way to go, but are you going to cook some of it fresh? I know about the reasoning behind the rules, I was commenting on your word choice: you're pretty narrow-minded when you think the only other side is just another Abrahamic religion. There's a whole world full of religions with no relation to those three big ones.Count Chocula wrote:The prohibition on pork made sense when there was no refrigeration cause of disease and shit, but these days not so much.
